Campbell Brown, who anchors CNN's nightly 8 PM Eastern time news show, has decided to call it quits.
She did not say she was leaving to "spend more time with my family."
Nor did she say she was leaving to "pursue other opportunities."
What she said was something with which she was comfortable - the truth. She was leaving because "not enough people watch my show."
She had tough competition from the likes of Bill O'Reilly, who has the right-wingers locked down spewing vitriol and 'spin.' On the other side of the spectrum, Keith Olbermann tells the left-wingers what they want to hear with his acerbic tongue. And then there is Nancy "guilty-till-proven-innocent" Grace, the patron saint of victims, at CNN's HLN.
I did not watch Brown's show on a regular basis, but I always enjoyed her balance, intelligence, and tenacity.
Her replacement? Perhaps Eliot Spitzer. Talk about landing on your feet!
We'll miss you, Campbell.
